Cut list, jig, weld, dress, finish, hang. Keeping all six steps in one place is why a one-off is possible at all — nothing has to be ordered to a standard size, and the people who fabricated it are the people who hang it.

Matching something that already exists is most of the work — an existing panel, a neighbouring run, or a detail lifted off the house itself.

Master-planned streets tend to have their utilities in known places, which makes power and control runs more predictable than on older lots.

Outside the HVHZ — a different set of paperwork

Palm Beach County sits outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone that governs Miami-Dade and Broward. Wind still decides the frame here; the product-approval paperwork is simply a different set. Permitting in Delray Beach is administered locally, so confirm what is expected before fabrication starts.

  • On-site welding

Does custom mean a different scale of job?
Not necessarily. Where the opening is an odd width or the pier is not square, a made piece is often the only thing that fits at all.
Can ornamental ironwork be repaired?
Frequently — that is welding and dressing rather than replacement, and it happens on site where the piece is already fixed.
Ours is a shared entry, not a driveway.
Different machine. It gets specified on cycles a day and on who needs to get through it, not on the gate's weight alone.
Who is responsible for the entry?
Usually the association rather than any one resident, which changes who we talk to and who signs the work off.
