A gate is the only part of a property everyone sees and nobody walks past quickly. Piers, gate, fence line and the light on it either belong to each other or obviously do not, so they get drawn together rather than bought separately.
Deeper setbacks are what make a two-leaf ornamental pair worth fabricating at all: there is room for the leaves to open into the property instead of out over the footpath.
Where the house sits well back, the gate is the only part of the property most people ever see close up.
Wind load first, paperwork second
The High-Velocity Hurricane Zone covers Miami-Dade in full, which is what decides the frame and the fixings long before anyone picks a finish. Approval is a separate, local question: in Pinecrest it runs through whichever authority has jurisdiction, and where a homeowners' association governs the street its architectural review usually runs alongside it.

- Shop-fabricated
- Coastal finish
- On-site measure
- Drawn before it's cut
- Two-leaf openings
- Do I need pillars?
- Not necessarily. Posts, piers and rendered pillars are three different structures, and the leaf and the ground decide which one is right.
- Can a two-leaf gate work on my frontage?
- If the setback gives the leaves somewhere to open into, yes — that gets measured on site before anything is drawn.
- Two leaves or one?
- A pair halves the arc each leaf needs and doubles the hardware. Opening width and setback usually settle it between them.
- Do I need a permit for this?
- Often, and Miami-Dade is inside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so the wind rating matters too. Permits are issued locally, so we confirm what your authority wants before we start.
