Driveway gates · Palmetto Bay, FL
Measured on site and drawn on your entrance before anything is cut.

Palmetto Bay · Miami-Dade County
The first question is never the style, it is the opening. Width, slope, where the cars stop and how much room the leaves have to move through decide what can be built, and all four get measured rather than assumed.
A gate set well back on a long drive is a different brief — a wider clear opening for a truck and trailer, longer cable runs, and a leaf that has to stay square with no wall to lean on.
Where lots are measured in acres, the gate is often the only structure between the road and the house.
Two approvals, not one
Anything structural at the property line in Miami-Dade answers to the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone standard, and that is what sets the frame and the fixings. Separately, Palmetto Bay runs a local review, and where a homeowners' association governs the street it generally runs one of its own. Neither is a thing to discover after fabrication.

Worth knowing
- Drawn before it's cut
- Shop-fabricated
- Coastal finish
- On-site measure
- Solar & battery options
- The gate is nowhere near a power supply.
- That is a normal starting point. Solar, battery and trenched runs are all real options, and the site decides between them.
- How far can the control run?
- Further than most people expect, but the run length is what decides the cable, the voltage drop, and whether wireless is the better answer.
- Do I need a permit for this?
- Often, and Miami-Dade is inside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, so the wind rating matters too. Permits are issued locally, so we confirm what your authority wants before we start.
- What is the HVHZ?
- The High-Velocity Hurricane Zone — the Florida Building Code's strictest wind-load region. It covers all of Miami-Dade, which is why the hardware spec here is not the spec further north.

Nothing is quoted off a photograph alone. The opening gets measured first, and the drawing follows from the measurements.
